ABOUT
Sara Wargo is a mechanical engineering student at Washington University in St. Louis. Her creative interests include designing, drawing, photography, and sculpture. She is taking part in a dual degree program where she spent three years earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in physics while minoring in studio art at the College of Wooster, then the next two years earning her Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering at WashU. Sara is currently in her third year at WashU, completing her Master of Science degree in mechanical engineering. Her career goal is to work as a designer where she will integrate her knowledge of physics, studio art, and engineering to build new, immersive worlds for audiences to explore.
Sara's journey began when she was in middle school and designed her first t-shirt for the cross country team. As she designed t-shirts for clubs, sports, charities, and her school district, Sara realized her love for design. When she entered high school, Sara was introduced to the annual hallway decorating competition. Sara lead her class through the competition, making the design, organizing teams, and dividing the work. With this, she learned just how much she loves storytelling and captivating the attention of individuals so that their own imagination and creativity can run wild. From here, Sara decided that she would combine her love for movies with her passion for design to pursue a future as a set designer. She has continued pursuing this goal in college by working for the scene shop and building sets for productions at both the College of Wooster and Washington University in St. Louis.
